Nicole Burke Wins Lady Captain's Prize
Last Saturday, June the 30th the ladies competition  (Breda Kennedy Captain's prize) which was over 36 holes stableford. Over 30 ladies played on the day and 11 honoured it. The weather was great despite being a small bit windy, but that did not stop the ladies going out and enjoying their game. The prizes were only beautiful and the ladies were delighted with them. Breda captain started off on Thursday night with the juvenile,with Cillian Lynch winning the overall. On Friday night we had the Lady Captain's 4 Ball,Breda was delighted with the turn out on both Thursday and Friday evening well done to all the winners and thanks to everyone who played and honoured it. On Saturday we had the game all the ladies were waiting for and after the game the ladies sat down for there tea which was provided by Amber.Thanks to all the people who made the Cakes and apple tart and all the gents who helped out on the day and also to Shane O'Hara for setting up the prizes.The captain and chairman and lady vice captain Frances spoke about Breda saying how good a lady captain she is and how delighted they are to be working with her. She is such a great worker and that she had a great year.The Overall all went to Nicole Burke, with a score of 89 points. Nicole was seconded last year, so this was her year and with a great score. Breda congratulate Nicole for winning her prize, and said that she is a lovely player to be out with. She is also a dedicated member to the club and part and part of the ladies committee and always willing to give a hand. She ia also the PRO for the juneniles committee and all the reports that she does for the paper every week are appreciated, no doubt we will see her winning again. Breda in her speech thanked her family and all the prize's winners and to John the grounds man, Amber and all the ladies for doing the cards.On behalf of the Ladies we would like to say a big thank you to Breda Kennedy for  fantastic day and for her fantastic prizes. She also gives 100% as captain and also to the club. For every presentation, she does beautiful flowers arrangements and she is very supportive to everyone.

Breda Kennedy Lady Captain 2011/2012
This is the weekend all the ladies have been waiting for, the Lady's captain prizes, and that is what our captain is a Lady.
Breda is a  outstanding Lady Captain in our club,the one who never gives up who always helps to improve her club, who is the first to get a cheer going,what is really significant is the vibrant feel she has amongst the Ladies, gents and juveniles.We wish Breda all the best on Saturday, from all the
Ladies, officers and members of the Fermoy GAA Pitch & Putt club. 

Patricia Hanley Memorial

Sarah Byrne Wins Patricia Hanley Memorial
On Tuesday, June 5h and 12th the ladies had the Patricia Hanley Memorial which ran over two weeks and two cards to count. There was a great turn out on both nights,and the weather was great. The presenation took place on Friday june the 14th with a great turnout on the night. Breda thanked Eugene Hanley and his family for their sponsorship, which started in 2006 and also the prizes, they were beautiful.This event is well supported every year by the ladies. Patticia Hanley (RIP) loved a game of pitch & putt and the club are honoured to be playing in it. Eugene in his speech said that he and his family are delighted to be sponsoring this for the ladies and are looking forward to 2013, all going well.He thanked Breda for all her hard work and her input into the club and he wished her the best for the rest of the year as lady captain.He thanked here for the beautiful flowers he received and congratulated the winners and ladies who played. Sarah in her speech thanked Eugene and his family for their sponsorship and beautiful prizes. She was delighted to have won and thanked her playing partners for playing with her over the two weeks. She congratulated the winners and Breda and her committee for all the work they do. Well done to her and no doubt, we will see her winning again as she is a lovely player.

On Tuesday May 29th the ladies held a 4 ball stroke, which was sponsored by Lilly and Mary. The weather condition were perfect for the game, and
there was fantastic turnout. There was a fantastic buzz around the course and it was good to see the ladies enjoying themselves.Breda thanked Lilly and
Mary for the lovely prizes, which we understand came from Spain. Both these ladies are very popular at the club. Lillt is a geat person and is also a member of the ladies committee. She helps out regularly in the club. Maryis also very popular and loves playing cards and walking the dog. Breda wished both ladies the very best throughout the year and thanked them on behalf of all the ladies. There was fantastic scores on the night. Both Llly and Mary in their speeches thanked Breda for her hospitality and kind words, and wished her all the best for the year ahead, and that they were looking forward to her captain's prize, on the 30th June, and hope that the weather will be good for the event.They also thanked the ladies who played and all the prize winners.
The ladies enjoyed a lovely relaxing social evening in the club house.

On Tuesday June the 5th we had the Patricia Hanely Memorial, which is a single stroke competition. This will also run on June the 12th with two scores
to coun. On June 19th we have a single stroke competition which is kindly sponsored by Mary Geary. We hope to see a good turnout for these two popular
sponsors, and hope the weather will stay good.There will be two draws times 10.30a and 6.45pm.

On Tuesday May 22nd the ladies had a sponsored stroke competition by Noel and Sharon. There was a great turn out by the ladies on the night. The weather conditions were perfect on the night. The lady captain Breda welcomed Noel, sharon, Holly, Jane and Scott. She thanked Noel and Sharon for their sponsorship to the ladies over the years. In her speech she said this is Noel's third year as Chairman of our club. His dedication, commitment and hard work makes our club the success it is today. Noel is also our local Labour councillor and Cork County councillor and works very hard for Fermoy town. He is very approachable and if you need his help or advice he will do his job to his utmost and you have the confidence in knowing it will be looked after. Sharon works in our local Shaws department store and is very helful and very pleasant to everyone. She is also very willing to pitch in and give a hand within the club when needed. We wish them both the very best in the future, and on behalf of all the ladies thank you for the beautiful prizes.
Noel in his speech on behalf of Sharon and himself, thanked Breda for her kinds words and wished her the very best in her lady captain's prize and through the rest of the year. He said they were delighted and honoured in sponsoring the ladies, and thanked everyone who played and all the prizes winners.

On Friday May the 25th the ladies held a fundraising bingo night in the club house, on behalf of the lady captain Breda and all the ladies a sincere thank you to everyone who helped out on the night, and thanks to Joe Lillis for calling out the numbers, Joe is always very obliging giving a hand and does a fantastic job.

Jean Clancy wins Anne Neligan.
On Tuesday, May 22nd the ladies turned out in great numbers for the Anne Neligan single stableford competition.
The weather was fantastic and thanks to the groundman and his team, the course was perfect for the ladies
to enjoy their game. The lady captain Breda thanked Anne for her sponsorship on behalf of all the members.
Anne has been sponsoring this competition over  a number of years and is a dedicated friend and popular member of the club. She always has a lovely smile and twinkle in her eyes which is so welcoming to everyone. Anne in her speech
said she was delighted with the support from all the ladies and thanked them for playing, and also those who honoured it on the night. She thanked Breda for helping her choosing the fantastic prizes. She said that Breda was a fantastic captain and a great friend,and wished her the very best on her upcoming Lady captai's prize, and throughout the rest of the year. She said she was delighted and is looking forward to sponsoring in 2013, and she congratulated all the winners.

Ailish Sexton wins Cavanagh Trophy
On Tuesday May the 8th, there was a great turn out for the Canvanagh Trophy and the
weather conditions were perfect for the game. The lady captain Breda thanked the Cavanagh family for their
sponsorship. In her speech she informed those present that Tommy Cavanagh Junior had sent his
apologies for not being able to attened the presentation, but he wished all the ladies the very best of luck
and looked forward to sponsoring the ladies in 2013. The Cavanagh family have a very successful coach service in Fermoy and surrounding area, and on behalf of the ladies we would like to to take this opportunity in wishing
them the best in the fucture. The Cavanagh family are sponsorning this event for a good few years and we greatly
appreciate their support. If anyone is looking for a coach for travelling, please give them a call.
